"We stopped for an Apple Cider and a Lactose Free/Gluten Free hot drink ~ the London Fog made with Almond Milk & Raspberry thriller tea is OK for this allergy folk. Love the bright and cheery atmosphere. They even had plants in old coffee pots!"

"Got stranded in town and these folks were so incredibly friendly and the food was delightful. Overall a worthwhile place to stop at, with few negatives. Chairs are a bit hard to sit on for extended periods of time but I don't imagine they're meant for long term chilling so that's on me. I sat at a table with a black glass top, which isn't necessarily good for keeping a clean appearance but it was the only table of its type. The space overall was open, with good natural light which I believe is best for a cafe. Service was polite and helpful. I had no experience with the location previously and probably came off as somewhat nervous, but I felt no judgment and was helped whenever I needed it. The place seemed somewhat understaffed, but the employees seem to be keeping up with the relative hustle. At no point was I the only individual in the sitting area, and people picking up drinks was frequent. Eating wise, I'm not a coffee drinker and so my ability to comment on a cafe is limited given they are usually focused on caffeine beverages. However the food I did order was fresh and at the perfect temperature to stop me from eating it immediately, giving me time to properly admire it. It was a breakfast sandwich, and smelled absolutely incredible. It's taste was good and satisfactory, but more importantly it had mass. For a cafe, you don't expect your food to have solid weight, but this breakfast sandwich did. Good heft is important enough to me that I'd have given this location five stars regardless of the other factors. To my limited knowledge this place is entirely locally owned. By that standard, I think MJ's is an establishment worthy of a spare 10$ and some time spent adjusting yourself on the chair. Next time I'm in Virden, MJ's will be among my first considerations when looking for something to do."
